Grilled cheese with apples and sharp cheddar

GRILLED CHEESE WITH APPLES & AGAIN CHEDDAR

(SERVING: 2)

Ingredients

  • 1 medium-sized apple
  • 4 slices of bread of your choice
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) salted butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) Joe Beef Smoked Apple Mustard
  • 100g to 120g of strong cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) fresh spinach
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

 Preparation

Cut the apple into thin slices and set aside.

Butter the 4 slices of bread with salted butter on one side only.

Butter the sides of the unbuttered bread slices with the smoked apple mustard .

Thinly slice the sharp cheddar cheese and place it on two slices of bread. Repeat this step with the apple slices and spinach, then close the sandwich.

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the grilled cheese sandwiches for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, or until the cheese is melted.

Serve immediately!

* To help the cheese melt, cover the pan to retain the heat.
