Healthy caramel with date sugar

DATE SUGAR CARAMEL

(SERVINGS: 8)

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (125 ml) date sugar
  • 1/3 cup (85 ml) water
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
  • 1 pinch of fleur de sel
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) maple syrup

 Preparation

Mix all ingredients with a whisk until smooth.

The caramel is very good to eat as is, but you can also cook it for a few minutes over low heat.

To try: In a grilled cheese with cheddar and apple slices.
