Maple Syrup Lip Scrub

It's officially spring, maple syrup time has arrived, and I have to admit I'm really tired of seeing slush covering the lawn! The arrival of a new season often means a change of routine, a fresh start, and taking care of yourself. So, here's a simple trick to pamper yourself while indulging in a sweet treat!

Maple syrup and beauty treatments

Maple syrup is a great alternative to white sugar in many recipes; it's delicious on a mountain of pancakes and is inevitably a must-have at the sugar shack, but there are also a host of treatments to be done with this Canadian syrup. Yes! The first time I heard about it, it was in an article about the strange beauty habits of Hollywood stars. Kym Douglas claimed to coat her hair in maple syrup for 20 minutes to revive its shine. Rather strange, but still interesting! It was only a few years later that I finally decided to try a maple DIY. Since then, maple syrup has been part of my daily beauty routine.

Why maple syrup?

Because it's FINALLY spring and maple syrup season has officially begun, but also because it's a food that's full of benefits! Maple syrup is an excellent moisturizer and contains exfoliating properties due to the antioxidants derived from maple trees. It's also a very gentle and safe ingredient.
