DIY: How to make a natural bath bomb with winter scents

For a relaxing moment this winter

We're reaching the heart of winter, and with it, fatigue and minor colds are often part of our daily lives. It's the perfect time to slow down and take care of yourself.

At Chez Moi d'abord, we thought it was time to offer you a cocooning DIY!

Run Forest Run essential oil for a breath of fresh air

There's nothing better than taking a bath to relax and indulge in a few moments of pampering! An easy-to-make bath bomb at home will be a nice little extra to make this moment even more relaxing.

For this natural recipe, we chose our Run Forest Run essential oil blend which combines:

- fir essential oil (perfect for helping breathing and relaxing muscles),

- Cedar essential oil (calming and decongestant)

- Cypress essential oil (refreshing and ideal for relieving coughs).*

This homemade bath bomb will be the perfect choice for those with a mild cold or other bouts of depression! Plus, its fresh scent will transport you to the heart of a snowy forest in the blink of an eye (while still being nice and warm in your bath... isn't that fun?).

We have chosen to offer you a quick recipe to make with natural ingredients that we often already have at home!

How to make your own bath bomb?

Ingredients :

- ½ cup of sodium bicarbonate

- ¼ cup of salt (table salt, coarse salt or Epsom salt)

- ⅛ cup of cornstarch (or white or pink clay)

- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil of your choice (jojoba or olive oil for example)

- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice

- 20 drops of Run Forest Run essential oil blend

Here are the steps to follow to make your homemade bath bombs:

1/ Mix the bicarbonate, salt and cornstarch in a bowl.

You can add a little water if the mixture is not wet enough.

4/ Add the mixture obtained into a mold.

This could be a cupcake or muffin pan, or a plastic mold specifically designed for this purpose.

For our part, we opted for a madeleine mold. :)

5/ Leave to air dry for 2 days. Then gently unmold and enjoy a breath of fresh air during your next bath!
