I love coffee, but every now and then, especially during stressful times, I want to swap it for a less stimulating beverage.
My current obsession: golden milk, also known as turmeric latte.
This colorful drink is just as comforting, but it's caffeine-free. You'll fall in love, I'm sure!
HOMEMADE GOLDEN MILK RECIPE
(SERVINGS: 1)

Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 ml) of milk or plant-based beverage of your choice
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) coconut milk
- 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) good quality turmeric (I love the Cha's organic one from our October 2016 box!)
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml) ground cinnamon
- A small piece of fresh ginger, grated (or 1/8 tsp ground ginger)
- A pinch of black pepper
- Maple syrup, to taste
*You could replace the spice mix with the one received in your March box !
Preparation
1. In a small saucepan, mix the spices into the milk mixture. Simmer over medium heat for a few minutes or until heated through.
2. Pour everything into a Mason jar and add the maple syrup. Close the lid and stir until the drink becomes frothy.
Don't say it too loudly, but on busy mornings, I skip the saucepan step altogether and make my golden milk directly in the microwave in a mason jar for an even easier and faster option!
