I'm a huge fan of chocolate and desserts in general, so I'm constantly on the lookout for healthy AND tasty alternatives to satisfy my sweet tooth. This sweet hummus recipe does the trick perfectly! The hardest part? Resisting the spoonfuls!
CHOCOLATE-HAZELNUT HUMMUS
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 ml) canned chickpeas, rinsed well
- 5 tbsp (75 ml) cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) hazelnut butter
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) canola oil
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) water
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) maple syrup
- 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
- A pinch of salt
- Toppings to taste (my favorite: The Pause Moka mix from Patience Fruit et co)
Preparation
Combine all ingredients in a food processor until smooth. Add a little water if necessary.
Garnish with nuts, coconut flakes, cocoa nibs or, like me, with the Pause Moka mix from Patience Fruit et co, which further accentuates the chocolate and hazelnut flavors with a little hint of coffee as a bonus!

Some ideas for using it
- On toast, pancakes or waffles
- For decadent stuffed dates
- To dip the fruit
- Simply spoon out for the ultimate treat!
